Flaunt the Art of Punning Cave.

Beauty in the darkness

We can say that Puning Cave is one of the most beautiful caves in the Philippines and you will know why it is one of the natural wonders found in Central Luzon that is a perfect place to unwind and experience nature at its best. Who wouldn't be amazed by the natural physical features of a waterfall drizzling onto the rocks and an enormous venturesome cavern, especially with its exceptional stalactites and stalagmites?

Rocky facade yet majestic inside

Puning Cave is located in Barangay Bayabas, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, Philippines. It is approximately three hours away from Manila and is accessible by private and public transportation. Upon reaching Bayabas, our group trekked for about 15 minutes to reach the tourist-protected site of Puning Cave. We are able to pass by a rainforest where we can hear the hymn of the birds and feel the fresh cold air of the province. It may be a tiring walk, but is it worth the sweat as we reach the gigantic entrance of Punning Cave.

Shining stalagmites

Once we get inside, the cave is totally dark, but we can feel our adrenaline rush to know and explore what is inside. The cave is enormous and has a lot of tiny, tight walking paths. A friendly reminder that you should be careful and use your flashlight to see where you are going through because the dripstones and flowstones are sharp and sensitive. But if you use your flashlights to shine upon them, you will be able to see the beautiful forms of stalactites and stalagmites. There are rock formations that look like teeth, tongues, and birds like the Ibong Punayand, where its name is derived from. If you are a person who is very spontaneous about exploring everything, Puning is a must-visit in Bulacan.

Being lost on tiny paths

Puning Cave is one of the biggest caves here in Bulacan, with a length of 700 meters wide. We are only able to explore its first 200 meters because the paths are too narrow and sharp for beginners like us. But we can say that we experienced an intense activity inside, with the bats and birds welcoming us, the water unnoticeable deepening up to our waists, and the floors so sharp that we needed to rent slippers to walk by.

Refreshing water falls

Nevertheless, there is a small waterfall outside to refresh us. It is a small waterfall with running water up to 4 feet high that is safe for children to swim in. The waters were clear, clean, and cold, and we know the locals preserve and take good care of them because we could spot some crabs and fish in the shallow waters.

Always a good time to go exploring, no matter who you with

One more good thing about the place is that they allowed tourists to take photos inside the cave. And of course, living in 2022, many of us tourists want to capture moments that will last a long time, so it is a great moment to capture the astonishing beauty and adventuresome experience of the Puning Cave with friends or family.

If you are wondering if we have an expensive budget to experience it all, to surprise you, the punning cave only charges two expenses; P100 for environmental and entrance fees and P300 for a tour guide for the entire facility, good for 8 people. Puning Cave would fit your budget, especially if you are planning to go with more friends or family. Never miss this place as it will give you the most unforgettable memories you will ever have.

That's A Wrap!

That’s all for our first venturesome destination. We hope you had fun on our adventure in Puning Cave in Dona Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan. We'd love to see you here!
